Accessibility
Orbis Network aims to make its research, publications and digital platforms accessible to as broad an audience as possible.
Standards
Accessibility is an important consideration in how Orbis Network presents information and develops its digital platforms. We aim to make our website and published material usable by people with different abilities, devices and methods of interaction.
Our approach takes account of recognised accessibility principles, including perceivability, operability, understandability and compatibility with assistive technologies.
We seek to improve accessibility as the website evolves, although some content or features may not yet meet every accessibility standard.
Keyboard navigation
We aim to support navigation through the website using a keyboard, without requiring a mouse or touch input for essential interactions.
Interactive elements should have clear focus indicators and meaningful labels wherever practicable. Navigation, forms and other controls should be arranged in a logical order to support keyboard users and people using assistive technologies.
Contrast and typography
Orbis Network uses a restrained visual identity designed to support clear and focused reading. We aim to maintain sufficient contrast between text, backgrounds and interactive elements.
Typography, spacing and content structure are intended to support readability across different screen sizes. We also aim to use meaningful headings, descriptive labels and structured page layouts to make information easier to navigate.
Captions and transcripts
Where practicable, audiovisual publications should be accompanied by captions, transcripts or other accessible alternatives so that information is not available exclusively through sound or video.
We recognise that transcripts and captions support not only people with hearing-related accessibility needs, but also readers who prefer to access content in text form or in environments where audio is unavailable.
Availability may vary by publication and format. We intend to improve the consistency of these provisions as our editorial output develops.
Reduced motion
The Orbis website may use animation and visual transitions as part of its presentation. We aim to respect reduced-motion preferences where supported by the user's device or browser.
We seek to avoid unnecessary motion and visual effects that may interfere with reading, navigation or the use of the website.
Feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we welcome feedback about barriers that visitors encounter when using Orbis Network's website or publications.
If you experience difficulty accessing content, navigating the website or using a particular feature, please contact us at:
Email: info@orbisnetwork.media
Where possible, please include the page address, a description of the difficulty and the device or assistive technology being used. This helps us investigate and consider appropriate improvements.
